- confirm that Visibility is receiving current data,
- understand the organization-wide adoption baseline,
- investigate one tool, department, or person,
- identify an action worth taking, and
- know which part of Visibility to use next.
1. Confirm the data is current
Open Visibility → Collect and review the integrations and deployed devices available to your workspace. Check the latest successful sync or device heartbeat before interpreting adoption or spend. If a source is stale or a device is unhealthy, start with Manage collection.2. Establish the baseline
Open Visibility → Overview and choose a time range that represents normal work. Review:- active people and adoption distribution,
- changes from the previous period,
- the tools and departments contributing the most activity, and
- any visible spend or governance signals.
3. Follow one signal
Choose one material signal, such as a department with declining adoption, a rapidly growing tool, or a concentration of personal accounts.1
Open the relevant detail
Move from the overview into the department, tool, or person behind the
signal. Keep the same time range so the views remain comparable.
2
Check the contributing evidence
Review account type, activity, workflows, spend, and source coverage where
available. Compare more than one measure before assigning a cause.
3
Check scope
Confirm that your role and workspace access include the population you
intend to reason about. Scoped views should not be treated as company-wide
totals.
4. Choose the next action
Use the evidence to select a specific operational response:
Visibility provides the evidence and the available Oximy workflow. Contract,
procurement, identity-provider, or endpoint changes may still be completed in
the system that owns them.
5. Continue with the right path
Understand adoption
Learn how adoption levels, trends, workflows, and cohorts are represented.
Reconcile spend
Understand contracted, metered, shadow, and recoverable spend.
Operate governance
Review tools, access, policy detections, and administrative decisions.
Improve the operating rhythm
Turn Visibility into a recurring company practice rather than a one-time audit.
